It is not fair to compare msia & spore; msia is just too big. It probably fairer to compare spore vs kl. I cant help but have to compare the two cities, so near yet so far .....
When i reached spore harbourfront station (this place is new to me), i have no problem at all to find my way to smrt (btw there's mrt nearby this bus stop). There have signs clearly point you to where u looking for. It was quite a distance walk but i have no sweat (literaly) in finding the mrt. Now, do think you can find your way if you're first-time landed at this place called pudu station, and wish to walk to the nearest lrt station ?
The smrt took me to serangoon station where my brother waiting for me there. From there we took a 10 minutes walk to his hdb flat house. The 10 minutes walk - i was walking on the walking-path all the way from the station to his flat. It was such a nice & comfortable walk, no lubang-lubang here & there, no black-smelly-smoke blowed to your face, no worry about snatch thief...i have a peaceful walk. Now, do you think u can have a nice-and-safe-walking-on-proper-path to say from kelana jaya station to kelana puteri (my condo house) ?
Whenever we go places in spore, we have to take bus & mrt. U normally need not wait for more than 10 minutes for any bus. Any bus will bring you to main bus station & mrt. U can share using the same card for mrt & bus, top-up any amount at any station. There's no need to slot card through the entrace gate to mrt or machine in the bus; what u do is just flag the card to the entrace point for both into mrt & on bus, with a 'dee' sound u are through. Now, i think we still have to use coins for the bus & a separate card for the lrt..... i'm msia will cathch up using this technology soon (hopefully). Not sure abt you, i will avoid taking bus in kl.
This round i didn't do so much of shopping & eating out in spore. kl main shopping malls are actuallly not bad. Food wise, of course spore can't beat kl !But, can still find good food in spore..
hmmmm...... overall, when 1 m in spore, i cant help but just wonder why our msia planning can be that far (standard) away from spore ? i know msia is a 'big' country & more population, but, if we just look at one main city where so much money have been invested into development, why, why is that it just can't be slightly better ???? maybe (definitely) this is call "mis-management"!
Is there any better explanation???

The problem with Malaysia was those that started early or was responsible to build roads, was not very visionary. They only see short term/distance without thinking about future expansion. So now, it's hard to undo what has been done where roads were built everywhere without proper system. Sigh...nasi sudah jadi bubur.
Most likely also the 'ministers' involved long long ago was not as smart as those in S'pore. Hopefully I don't get sued/thrashed for saying this.
Glad you had a good time in S'pore. But S'pre got no tepi jalan mamak stalls wor!
As for taking bus, I'll avoid it like a plague. In fact, I don't know how to take bus anymore!!!!
